Quality of Education in the Philippines

"The major American Universities and the Evaluating Agencies in the USA - such as Josef Silny in Miami - would shudder at the "equivalent to a Associate degree in the USA" statement. For the most part, it takes over 160 college credit hours to get a Filipino University Degree and less than 130 to get an American
University Degree. All university classes in the Philippines are taught in English. And each of the three PT's, 4 nurses, 2 CPA's, and 6 Engineers I have helped get to the USA had all had their degrees assessed as "equivalent to or surpassing" USA Degree Requirements.

That is why it is so absurd to me that an entire group of teachers and medical people in the Philippines stand unemployed looking for jobs serving french fries or selling sneakers when the USA is 400,000 nurses and 600,000 teachers short. " [Garry Muth] Quoted from

Universities abound in the Philippines. It is an excellent place to get a very cheap but good education. You may know of the many Filipino MD's, nurses, CPA's, lawyers, etc. working in the States on their Filipino credentials after taking a state board certification test. Filipinos are excellent professionals and business people everywhere they work.

he education in the Philippines are geared to U.S. requirements. You can use the U.S. GI Bill of Rights educational provisions to pay for a Philippine education.

Philippine computer schools and educational entities have sprung up everywhere in the last few years. A 20-hour private tutorial on Corel Draw or PhotoShop by a local computer-school teacher is about $40 if the teacher comes to your home, and about $5 less if you go to the school.

f you want to learn one of the local languages, tutors cost about $1 per hour. You can't beat Philippine universities, college and schools here when it comes to reasonable tuition fees for a quality education.
